iOS app development
I'm trying to extend the life of my iPad 1, which means developing some specialized tool sets. For this purpose, I'm trying to reach one of the following goals.
- Find some old OSX hardware that would run an XCode version that would be compatible with iOS 5.1.1
- Use the Theos toolchain to build native apps from my Linux environment
The Theos toolchain project wiki
Theos on ArchLinux
My main OS being ArchLinux, it's only logical for me to move towards this direction.
The base dependencies are the following.
- clang 6
- the base build tools (shipped with the arch setup)
- ldid2 (there's a fork with some cool fixes)
I also need the XCode 4.4 SDK, which is locked behind a DMGwall (and that fucking sucks). Thankfully, I still have the MBP2015-15" my work lended me, which means that even if I cannot run such an old version of XCode, I can still at least uncompress the binary release, move it back to my NAS' softwares share, and retrieve it on my desktop computer.
